one of the recent challenge starter images with the tutorial textures & directions - except brightness wasn't lowered as called for.

same image with different textures & blend mode - - only difference in steps: used darken rather than multiply & increased brightness by 12 because I didn't particularly want as much of a spooky or gloomy effect for this one -- & just to compare a different effects.

I did use a levels adjustment layer and used a soft light blank layer to darken edges.

Kimi,

I had fun with this tut. Of course, I always love new textures and ways also. I did several-#1 is his photo his way, #2 is his photo with textures under the photo and different blend modes used, #3 is my family plot, tried to make it look ghostly-not too good at that. I did your levels adj on photos and the burning tool. It was all fun.

This was an interesting way of playing with textures. I loaded an art paper texture & used it on mine.

I came up with this effect using brushes since I couldn't get the effect I wanted using textures.
